Tulsi is a basil that is used for medicinal and spiritual purposes. The word Tulsi means "The Uncomparable One". The Tulsi plant originated from India where it is considered a sacred plant in the Hindu culture. Tulsi is used predominantly in Ayurvedic medicine for lifestyle-related chronic diseases.

Several years ago, Melissa Brandt, CEO and Founder of Tulsi Solutions, took an interest in Ayurveda, which means the science of life. Her interest lead her to take a trip to Kerala India, the Ayurveda Capital of the World, to further understand Ayurveda and how she could incorporate it into her daily life. Little did she know this trip would be a life-changing experience for her. She completely fell in love with India, the people, and their culture. 

When she started this business, she wanted to call it something that was meaningful to her. Melissa thought Tulsi was the perfect word to marry her passion for holistic health and wellness, desire to offer top-notch service to medical providers - the uncomparable one, and her love of India.
